The Glenister Golf Academy junior section is becoming stronger and stronger. Not only is membership growing but the complete player pathway is taking junior golfers to the next level and way beyond!

In 2017 Jamie Hodges, PGA Professional, will now be coaching Worcestershire County Boys & Girls development sessions, helping future prospects develop to a high level and prepare them for county matches and elite tournament golf. Ombersley Ladies member, Helen Lane, will be the girls Academy Manager who will help the girls with session arrangements, organisation as well as attending the coaching days.

The basis of this success has been formed fundamentally by Mark Nelson, PGA Professional, who, with the help of David Leach, Assistant PGA Professional, have been taking golf into local schools to encourage junior participation. Mark then conducts the Junior Academy on Sundays where golfers are then taught new skills and improve by working through the Academy certificate system, all the way through holding an official handicap and playing in member competitions here at Ombersley Golf Club.

A huge thank you must also go to our Junior Organiser, Paul Slavin, who has worked tirelessly in organising the junior competition schedule, junior events and other junior administration work, all this could not have been achieved without his hard work.

The Glenister Golf Academy continues to support junior golf through Head Professional, Graham Glenister and his sponsorship of junior competitions whilst also giving each junior golfer the fantastic opportunity of becoming a member here at a wonderful golf club like Ombersley.
