Set in an idyllic rural location, Ombersley Golf Club offers a gently undulating parkland course that presents an enjoyable challenge to both high and low handicap golfers.

The course is renowned for year round play to the highest standards, with rare need for temporary greens. The naturally free draining soil is complemented by an extensive drainage and irrigation network which all provide a wonderful starting point. Our intensive maintenance regime using the latest equipment all combines to ensure the provision of a genuine all weather course.

Everyone is welcome to visit and use our excellent driving range which has recently seen a total makeover. There is now a far warmer and more open feel to the range which has also benefited from improved safety features and additional ball dispensing options.

Attractive deep netted dividers grant the practising golfer privacy, whilst giving an improved feeling of space to the range. There is also an extra wide teaching bay with a multi level teaching mat to provide the ideal environment for tuition.

Adjacent to the driving range and first tee we have our popular putting green. Irrigated and maintained to the same standards as the 18 greens on the course itself this green gives you the ability to practice your short game and experience the same conditions that you will experience throughout.

Adjacent to the clubhouse and ideal for both golf lessons and your own practice sessions, this large sweeping bunker provides an ideal opportunity to develop your abilities in chipping onto the adjacent green.

PGA Professional

My career has taken me from a private members’ club in Buckinghamshire to a public complex on the outskirts of London. This provided a complete education covering the whole golfing spectrum. From 1990 my working life has been at pay and play facilities which sit in between. Having gained a distinction in my exam on the golf swing, my early years were spent teaching. I am passionate about teaching golf to absolutely everyone who wants to play the game.

My coaching philosophy is very clear and simple. I like to rely on the pupils ball flight to indicate what is happening with regards to swing path and club face orientation at the crucial moment of impact. I then devise drills and practice sessions in agreement with the pupil to achieve the desired shot pattern.
I will always work within the individual’s physical capabilities and I don’t believe that one swing theory will work for everyone. There are many ways to achieve a solid repeatable impact position and working to find the ideal move for the player always gives me great pleasure and satisfaction .
Lastly I am certain that a good mix of range and on course playing lessons is the best way for my customers to reach their individual golfing potential.

Gemma Glenister
PGA Assistant Professional

I am at the very start of my career in golf, having turned professional in October 2023. In the past I was a secondary school teacher and I also have a Masters in Psychology. I’m hopeful that these qualifications will provide me with a solid foundation on which to build my PGA teaching career.
I have played golf since I was 4 years old, so I understand the highs and lows that come with this wonderful game. I approach my teaching with a simplistic approach, helping you to shave shots from your score, through both the technical and tactical aspects of the game.
